Memorial services have been planned to honor the victims of the shooting rampage at a North Carolina nursing home, where a police officer shot a suspect and stopped the assaults.
Seven elderly residents and a nurse at Pinelake Health and Rehab were killed Sunday morning. Robert Stewart was arrested after Officer Justin Garner hit him with a single gunshot in the chest.
Stewart is charged with eight counts of first-degree murder.
A community memorial service is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday at Carthage United Methodist Church. The Pinelake community is having a memorial service April 19 at 3 p.m. at the facility.
