Police Search For Stabbing Suspect

Police continue to look for a man they say stabbed a security guard outside of a New Bern nightclub Saturday morning.

Police are on the hunt for Kevin Sanders. They say he stabbed Shade Simpson as he was leaving Club Nikki's heading to his car.

Club owner Daniel Bennett, who also owns Club Insomnia, says he's been trying for years to get a uniformed officer with New Bern police to patrol both of his clubs. Police say they cannot be employed where they know illegal activity takes place.

Bennett feels like his clubs are getting a bad rap.

Police had not been to Club Nikki's for any major incidents in more than two years.

A uniformed officer is a sitting duck at these clubs. The next news highlight would read: "Uniformed Officer Killed"

wow.. if you know illegal activity is there, its the perfect place for a cop to be. what kind of irrational thinking is that? hmmmmm... if that is true then why do cops go undercover and sell drugs to people to build a case? isnt that the same as being employed where you know illegal activity is? wow New Bern Police, you really drop the ball here.
