There's new information today about a Camp Lejeune Marine who deputies say committed sexual offenses on a young relative.

Onslow County deputies arrested Staff Sergeant Dustin Cosper Monday morning. He's charged with one count of second degree sexual offense, felony secret peeping and one count of a crime against nature.

Court documents say deputies seized a camera card from Cosper's home that they says contained images of child porn and evidence of additional crimes.

The victim told authorities that Cosper had been drinking and then after she fell asleep he removed her clothes and took pictures of her body.

Cosper is an electronic maintenance technician, assigned to the 2nd Radio Battalion, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Unit. He is scheduled to be in court today.

Original Story

Authorities say he drank alcohol with his wife and a young relative before committing sexual offenses on the young victim.

Onslow County Authorities arrested Dustin Cosper Monday morning for one count of second degree sexual offense, felony secret peeping and one count of a crime against nature.

Deputies say Cosper admitted to the offenses that took place earlier this month.

Cosper said he knew the young relative was drunk when he went to where she was sleeping and committed the sex offenses on her.

Cosper's was put in jail on a 50 thousand dollar bond with a court appearance Tuesday morning.

The point is he committed a crime against her, whether she should have been drinking or not. She was not a willing partner. PLUS he has been thinking about her sexually since she was 13, is what was reported in the paper. There is no excuse for that. He is a sicko. Go to the Jacksonville news site and read more details.

The "Marine" was wrong for taking the pictures but the "SIXTEEN" year old should not have gotten so intoxicated that she was not aware of what was going on. Where were her parents? What if it had been a stranger that had raped her and left her with a std or pregnant. Her with no knowledge of what happened would be a lesson learned.

I don't think anyone is saying all marines are bad, but in this case there is nothign good to be said. Jax news says his wife helped him cover it up by attempting to erase the pics after told by social services to preserve evidence. The victim and his stepdaughter saved the evidence. These poor children will be affected for the rest of their lives. This man and his wife are sick. Had that been my husband, I first would have beat him to a pulp, then called the police to come haul his sorry butt away. How in God's name could anyone cover that up and be an accessory? I'm more disgusted at her than him now.

Since when did the NRA start fighting for 1st amendment rights? Back to the real story here, maybe it's time for the good Marines to step up and clean house of these scum. The guys in his unit should come kick his butt.
