Four Facing Drug Charges After Late Night Stop In City Park

Police say they discovered drugs and loaded guns after finding two suspicious vehicles in a city park late at night.

It happened just after midnight Sunday in the parking lot of Herman Park in Goldsboro. Police say when they showed up, four men left the two cars and started to walk away.

Police say the group appeared nervous and gave inconsistent reasons why they were in the park after closing. Officers say they found over 58 grams of pot and two loaded firearms.

Kevin Barksdale of Dudley and Latique Vick of Goldsboro are charges with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Theodore Lee and Malcolm Russell, both of Goldsboro, are charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana.

All four men remain in the Wayne County jail.

If pot could be grown in our backyard, we wouldn't be overloading our prisons. There must be a market for it, or there would not be a demand.
