ATF Warns Spring Breakers Against Mexico Travel

The Justice Department's Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has taken the unusual step of urging college students to avoid parts of northern Mexico during spring break.

The bureau's Los Angeles field division said Monday that it discourages travel to Tijuana and Rosarito Beach, noting that both cities just south of San Diego have witnessed a lot of drug-fueled violence. Rosarito has long been a mecca for Southern California students on spring break.

The warning goes a step further than one issued by the State
Department last month advising travelers to Mexico to avoid areas of prostitution and drug-dealing and to take other commonsense
precautions.

The ATF is responsible for preventing arms smuggling into Mexico.

Eric Holder has already revealed that Obama was lying about gun control during the election. He now wants to reinstate the "assualt weapons" ban, supposedly to keep guns out of Mexico. Most of the weapons that I have seen used in Mexico have been full automatic AKMs.They more than likely came from Central America, NOT the U.S. It is just a BS excuse to try and reinstate the Assault weapons Ban.I know a lot of Democrats feel that ordinary citizens should not be allowed to own these firearms. But lets be honest, who needs a high capacity firearm more, the cop on the SWAT team that has 10 other cops backing him up, or the solitary individual that lives out in the country, with police 15 to 30 minutes away, and only that individual to protect themselves and thier family when the home invasion goes down. There have been a lot of home invasions lately, with several people trying to break in a home. That homeowner needs all the firepower he can get until police arrive.Or the Secret Service.

Sad to say but there will still be people going there, and there will be some news coming back telling how terrible it had been. Will they listen? Nope, but go on enjoy your Non-commonsense approach to heeding a warning.
