NFL Star Michael Vick Release To Home Confinement

A government official says imprisoned NFL star Michael Vick has been approved for release to home confinement.

Vick's lawyers have said they expected him to be moved any day into a halfway house in Newport News, Va. But the official says there's no bed space, so Vick could be released to his Hampton, Va. home as soon as May 21st.

The official has knowledge of the case but requested anonymity because the individual was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly. The official says Vick will be on electronic monitoring and will only be allowed to leave home for activities approved by his probation officer.

The former Atlanta Falcons quarterback is serving a 23-month sentence at the federal penitentiary in Leavenworth, Kan., for a dogfighting conspiracy.

I hope he does not even get back in the NFL. I never ever liked him at all, not even during his playing days at Virginia Tech. How much does Vick want to run his mouth and act all cocky now? I think jailtime may have shut his trap up. If he goes NFL, I hope he goes to some team out in California, or at least on the west coast.

Pro sports like the film industry are entertainment businesses that rely on the general public/customers to pay $$$$ to watch. I am sure some team will pick him up and that is their right BUT it is YOUR right not to watch or spend $ on their products.(I won't)

I am wondering what team will pick him up. I feel sure he stayed in shape in the clink, but most NFL teams are looking for a QB that will stay in the pocket, and not play running back.. Running QB's are just a liability now, and in my opinion, Vick's arm was good, but not great. If you research all the great QB's, you will find that most stay in the pocket until the very last second. Vick was never known to do this. Now don't get me wrong, the dude is fast, yet he is older and more susceptible to injury. Anyway, he has done his time, so if he is picked up we will see if he still has it. It is anyone's guess.

What a crock! He should have to stay in prison for his full term. He got off lightly as far as I'm concerned! I can't beleive that when he gets out he is still going to be allowed to play in the NFL!
