Man Shot Outside Kinston Restaurant

Police in one Eastern Carolina city need your help in solving an overnight shooting.

It happened around 2:45 a.m. outside the One Stop Restaurant on South Queen Street in Kinston.

Police say Courtney Foye was found shot in the buttocks and the 22-year-old man is currently being treated at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.

Police tell WITN that Foye was also shot at the same location several years ago. The One Stop was also the scene where seven people were shot last summer.

Since 2000, police have reported over 40 cases of shootings and stabbings in and around the restaurant.

Anyone with information on the shooting should call Lenoir County Crime Stoppers at 252-523-4444.

kinston wasn't always a slum. it was once a gracious southern town, with a mayberry like main street and nice people. what happened?

Seems as though the name, "One Stop" draws out the criminal element in Kinston as well as Greenville. What is it about that name that makes people want to engage in illicit activity ( the owners of these businesses certainly didn't go through everything you have to do to have a business to attract this type of customer, did they? )

Nothing new, they have a shooting weekly in Kinston, the town has the image of the getto. They just can't seem to clean it up, bring in the troops, get busy Kinston, the town is in the gutter. But they will pour money into Global Transpark, What a JOKE!!!!

Well we can tell by the way the establishment looks... and the customers that frequent the One Stop Restaurant... it's not a place I would take my kids for a burger and fries. ... But I wondering this... Foye has been shot twice there... why has he refused to cooperate with police? Someone obviously has it out for him, he won't tell who it is, and he won't stay away from this place. ...Foye is one of two things... crazy and/or wants to die!

What is this world coming too? It is not safe to do nothing nowhere, especially around Kinston. It is ridiculous. There is nothing out there but trouble. Kinston is just one place that is full of drama.

I'm with Wondering. I live in Kinston and am amazed at the crime we have and most of it near the Police station. I'm not saying the police aren't doing their job...but somethings gotta give. We have signs all over Kinston saying saying the "We're on the way!"...On the way to what... destruction????
