Appeal Filed In Fatal Vision Case At Ft. Bragg

A former Green Beret convicted of the 1970 slayings of his pregnant wife and two daughters in North Carolina has filed another appeal.

Jeffrey MacDonald's lawyers filed the appeal Thursday with the
4th U.S. Circuit Court in Richmond.

MacDonald, an ex-Fort Bragg Army surgeon, is serving three life
sentences for the murders of his wife, Colette, and daughters
Kimberley and Kristen.

The story produced the best-selling book and television miniseries "Fatal Vision."

In 2006, the federal appeals court ruled MacDonald could ask a lower court to hear new evidence based on a retired U.S. marshal's claim he heard a prosecutor coerce a star witness to lie in MacDonald's trial.

MacDonald is asking the appeals court to reverse a North Carolina federal judge's rejection of his appeal in November.
