Louisiana authorities have accused a man of stealing $5,000 in donations intended for a boy whose left arm was bitten off by an alligator.
The St. Tammany Parish sheriff's office says 34-year-old Corey Dunn was booked Monday with felony theft and released on bond. Dunn did not immediately return a call to his home Tuesday.
A sheriff's spokesman say the family of 11-year-old Devin Funck told investigators in November that money was missing from an account managed by Dunn. Authorities didn't give the total in the account.
The boy was attacked last July while swimming in a lake. Doctors were unable to successfully reattach the limb after a gator hunter quickly snared the animal and took the arm from its stomach.
