Two Brothers Arrested In Carteret County Home Invasion

Two brothers are now charged in a Carteret County home invasion.

Phillip Thackston, age 19, and Christian Thackston, age 23, were arrested.

Police say a 22-year-old Newport woman reported she and her 3-year-old child were sleeping in their mobile home off James Grady Road on January 23 when she was awakened by one of the suspects covering her month, holding a small bat against her face and demanding money.

Police say the pair stole the victim's blackberry cell phone and took off.

Both Thackston brothers are charged with robbery and burglary.

They are not thugs but the choice they made was a stupid one and all we can do is pray for them as well as all the young people out there who make the wrong decions. Let's face it, life is tough, but life is precious, you have to be smart and think correctly before taking any kind of action. Hopefully when they get out, they will learn their lesson.

This is darn right shameful what those thugs did.

Its a shame she couldn't have had a small dog to wake her up, and then been waiting with a nice 12 gauge loaded with slugs.
