Making ECU Safer

Community members came together to talk about safety precautions in an effort to make ECU safer for students and staff.

The third annual Higher Education Safety Symposium was held at the Hilton in Greenville Thursday and hosted by East Carolina University. The goal is for students, faculty, and staff to collaborate and go over some basic ways to make sure the campus stays safe.

Local and national experts were brought in to speak at the event. Topics ranged from fighting crime to specific safety measures during severe weather.

They could let any student willing to take the training start carrying a gun to protect temselves with. Then if some nut case comes on campus and starts shooting, the students will be able to defend themselves and not have to wait until the police arrive. The same should go for the staff at ECU. If they're willing to take the training, let them be armed.Remember, a armed society is a polite society.
