New Video From ECU Snowball Fight

There's new video from Tuesday's snowball fight at ECU that ended with the police getting involved.

The latest video posted on youtube shows ECU Police arresting Steven Bass. Bass was charged with assault on an officer for throwing a snowball at an officer.

ECU Police say they responded three times to the College Hill area about students throwing snowballs, some containing ice and oranges.

Students say police used pepper spray throughout the crowds of students. Police say the pepper spray was used for crowd control.

Students told WITN they're not used to having this much snow and the fun just got a little out of control.

the reason that NC State and UNC snowball fights were not broken up in such a way is beacause their police officers are more professional when it comes to dealing with students, unlike the wonderful ECU police that just seem to want to beat the crap out of us instead of doing their jobs. On any given weekend you will see more police officers downtown babysitting kids then actually doing their jobs. Go solve an actual crime and leave the students alone. but don't worry these guys will probably just get a slap on the wrist like the officers that beat the crap out of the students at the west virgina game did.

You know , also on You tube are videos from NC State and UNC's snow ball fights which were much bigger . None of this crap happened at either school. As far as I can tell, they stuck to snowball fights which also lasted hours . What gives???

To Old Guy, You must have never seen the way that the ECU Police Department runs their operations, and I have seen it first hand from somebody who used to be a detective there, so I know my facts, even though I will admit I went too far when I said the MOST UNPROFESSIONAL, but these officers have had a long history of being very unprofessional and I stick to that. My own brother got kicked out of a baseball game b/c the morons got him mixed up with another guy who about got in a fight, and two of the officers had him, one by the shirt and the other by the neck, just about choking him. That is unprofessional and out of line. Call me arrogant if you want, but I am telling the truth.

To Sam in Williamston: You were really doing well and actually showed that there are ECU graduates and students who can express their thoughts in clearly written sentences, without misspelling and improperly using numerous words. But then your ignorance and bias flys out and you proclaim that the ECU police "are the most unprofessional cops." In that you were "fast tracking" and working so hard, I'll bet you met very few of the other students and certainly none of the police who keep the campus safe for your educational pursuits. Sam, you have become one of the "trashtalkers" and you are also wrong, non-sounding arrogrant one.

To John in east nc: did you call the ECU police $18,000 a year punks because that is what you expect to initially make "if" you are able to graduate from this university, which is a great place to get a good education. ?? Their lowest paid officer probably makes more than you will make at your first job following graduation, unless you are going to be a doctor, and after that dumb/sarcastic salary remark, I know you aren't going to med school. But be sure and get a good job so the state budget will be able to pay their salaries.

So you people that are calling ECU people stupid, how about you must be stupid to now know that ECU has some very smart people as well. For ECU alums like myself, I chose to go to ECU to start with with the intention of going there to start with, had my 1420 SAT out of the 1600 score format, with a 3.9 GPA. My dad went undergrad to ECU before going to law school, and then becoming a lawyer. I received my BSA/MSA in 4.5 years, and had a job while I was in school, and now I am going for my CPA license, getting ready to take my CPA exam in 2 months. How about some of you call us stupid. ECU helped us get to where we are at and we both would of not been as well off financially had we of went somewhere else. ECU gets its perception, because ECU is notorious for having big parties and already has become much harder to get into than a decade ago. I'm not trying to sound arrogant, but this is one of several ways that you trashtalkers are wrong. Also, these are the most unprofessional cops.
