Teen Charged In Baseball Bat Assault

A 14-year-old is recovering at Pitt County Memorial Hospital after deputies say he was hit by a baseball bat.

Deputies have now charged Lacy Hocutt, Jr. of Raleigh with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.

The assault happened New Years Day on Robin Lake Drive in Wayne County. Deputies say the 17-year-old suspect was staying with friends in Wayne County, but after the attack moved back home to Raleigh.

Hocutt was developed as a suspect in the attack last week and he was arrested after his mother was notified of the charged against her son.

Hocutt's bond was set at $25,000.

To Jesus Loves Me: First I would like to remind you of Matthew 7. Next I would like to say I am a single mother of two wonderful children. They have ethics, morals, and values. They care about other people. But even more than that they are also young Christians. They are college students as well. Do not class all single mothers together. Yes there are some that can do better. We all can in some area or another in our lives including you. Another reminder for you is 'It rains on the just and the unjust.' For all we know he could have a great mom. Once a child becomes of age and makes decisions on there we as parents are not held accountable by our Father. We can only go to Heaven or Hell for ourselves. You might want to think about that.

To Jesus Loves Me - I think you need to go back to your bible - you spew forth hate and site the Bible? Your thinking is not Jesus based and I believe he would be ashamed of you. Don't use my Jesus' name in such anger.

You don't think living conditions are better here than in other country's? Forget about it Dave...LOL And, once again, Je'suis Loves Me jumps into it with both feet, head first and gets burried up to their neck in IT...LOL

I agree with Dave 100%; I don't believe in "God", this has nothing to do with "God". The parents/parent is either too busy, or isn't involved in this teens life!

To Jesus loves me: First of all it takes a STRONG person to raise a child alone. I myself have two children and my children and myself are just as happy as can be. It may take two to make one but it only takes one hell of deicated, loving, and caring one to take care of it! And by the way you make your comments about God and Christian families but the last time I checked my God doesn't judge a person because they are single....as long as they serve him is all that matters.

I Hope that the Victim is recovering well with Friends and Family by their side. What Makes someone hit another with a baseball bat?

being a single mother is not bad at all. you can raise your children the right way without a man and that still does not mean that they are going to listen. i tip my hat to single mothers. anyone one that have a problem with single mothers should try being one before they start to talking. i thank god for my children because they were raised single handed by me and they are fine.

The reason there are so many problems is because there are people who are not Christians and there are others who pick and choose which parts of the Bible they will live by. Single mother, pro-lifers, femenists, democrats, liberals, and those without the love of Jesus in their heart are the one commiting crime, or producing children who commit crimes.

Another post that has God involved. If God is so great then why is there so many problems in this "great country?"
