Couple Unhurt After Pitt County Home Invasion

Two people got a rude awaken early this morning, when a pair of masked men broke into their home, demanding money.

Pitt County sheriff deputies say it happened just after 3:00 a.m. on Reggie Court, that's off of Pactolus Highway.

Authorities say the homeowners were asleep on the couch, when the masked men, carrying handguns, said they would kill the victims if they didn't to hand over the money.

In the end, the duo got away with no cash, but only a cell phone.

I was just these home invasions that are becoming more and more heard of, are people actually opening their doors to people that they don't know? I wouldn't open my door to anyone that I don't know.

We cannot blame all the crime that keeps happening on the police chief or the GPD. I am originally from Onslow county and keep hearing about crimes increasing there and surrounding areas, so we can't just blame the police. I think they do the best they can. Let's place the blame where it needs to be, on the low life criminals. I agree with: here Location:here, people are getting tired of the crime and right or wrong people will start taking matters into their own hands. I do think there needs to be tougher penalties for criminals especially those arrested again and again.

No offense, but why hasnt there been anything on the news about the numerous break ins in Wanchese over the past two weeks?? I know we are just a small fishing village but I think we do deserve a little recognition, I mean after all we supply alot of yalls seafood and you can put something up about a break in and all they got was a cell phone, what about the 52 year old ladies house that got broken in to and her t.v. and all her medications being stolen? I guess yall just dont care about us

One of these days we are going to see a news story, and it won't be long, you will be reading about some thug trying to rob someone with a gun in there house and bang, one dead thug. Mark my words it is coming soon. My boss was at a gun shop last weekend and he said he could not believe the amount of people he saw in there buying guns! Thugs beware, people are getting sick and tired of this mess. Oh, what a world we live in...

For the second year in a row, the FBI's semi annual crime report shows that violent crimes, and property crimes are declining. Two people got a rude awaken early this morning, when a pair of masked men broke into their home, demanding money. What they did not read the new FBI report? Get your gun permit people.

Most people don't have cash on them anymore due to increased use of debit/credit cards. Not so bright...
