Five Teens Charged In Armed Robbery, Assault

Five Pitt County teenagers are behind bars, accused of robbing and hitting a man early Tuesday morning.

It happened at Myrtle Avenue and West 14th Street around 12:30 a.m. The 61-year-old man told Greenville police he was walking down the street when he was confronted by a group of young men, one who was armed with a handgun.

The victim says they demanded money and then began hitting him and pushing him to the ground. They made off with a bag which contained two pairs of shoes and got away in the gold Honda Accord.

Police spotted the vehicle and subsequently arrested five teens for the armed robbery.

The victim was cut on his head during the holdup, but did not require medical treatment.

Those arrested are: Darren Sims, 19 of Greenville, Travaus McMilliam, 17 of Farmville, James Swinson, 16 of Farmville, Julius Williams, 19 of Farmville, and Basel Washington, 19 from Farmville. All five are charged with armed robbery and assault inflicting injury.

"I would not sacrifice so much as a fish for any human-child or adult" and "Again, I would not trade an animals life for a school full of children." They are both quotes from JESUS LAVES ME. Nuff said? ANy questions?

Abortion is wrong. The solution-Christianity, abstinance, adoption. No help for these women who have babies they can't care for. Let them give the baby up or live on the street with no health care and no food stamps. Single mothers always want to play the victim but we all know who is treally at fault. God Bless.

Jesus loves me and Dave... I was just wondering what your opinion is on abortion. I understand your argument about single parents, but whats your idea of a good solution? Should all women who get pregnant and do not have a stable relationship or maybe they have an abusive boyfriend/husband... etc. If they couldn't handle giving the child up for adoption should they have an abortion?

I understand that "Jesus Loves Me" and Anne Coulter have a harsh way sometimes of making their point.Of course "JLM" is also the one who said she would not kill a fish to save the life of a child. That being said there are some undeniable stats associated with single parent homes. It is true that 80% of the prison population is from a single parent home.I know there are always exceptions to everything BUT over and over again we have seen, even if you choose not to believe, that a traditional family structure is the best way to give your kids a fighting chance in this world. It certainly does not guarantee success but I think anyone with kids would/should want to give them the best odds possible. God Loves everyone!Equally! But that does not mean he approves of your actions and it certainly does not mean that society should glorify these actions. Our society is now glorifying being a single mother. For a child that has very little going for them, this is a opportuntity for something tangible.

Yes Fred, but let them do their time in Iraq or Afganistan. Wiser use of my tax dollar and would ease overcrowding in resort, oh I mean prison!!!

It all boils down to they made a CHOICE and broke the law. Now they have to take responsibity for their actions. They do the crime, they do the time, reguardless of their past home life, beliefs and so on.
