An Onslow County Sheriff's detective has conducted a first interview with Erin Gould, a Jacksonville woman who was beaten with a hammer in December.
Lawmen arrested her husband, Camp Lejeune Marine Jonathan Gould, in connection with the attack.
The interview, which lasted more than an hour, was conducted at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center, where Gould has been hospitalized since the attack.
The Sheriff's Office says Erin Gould can now walk with assistance, and she is aware of who is attacked her.
Lawmen say Jonathan Gould originally told them he and his wife were attacked in their home but later confessed.
The Sheriff's Office says Erin was hit three times in the head with a hammer, the kind of hammer used in home construction.
Saturday marks 2 weeks that 26 year old Jacksonville resident Erin Gould has been hospitalized.
Authorities say on in the early morning hours of December 19th Gould was struck in the head 3 times with a hammer.
Authorities say her husband, Marine Corporal Jonathan Gould committed that crime, before staging a break in for police.
The Sheriffs Department says Erin Gould remains in a Wilmington hospital, still unresponsive and in a coma.
Her husband Jonathan, remains in the Onslow County Jail under a million dollar bond.
