Amber Alert Children Safe After Father Kills Self

Authorities say a man who killed his ex-wife also killed a renter and a neighbor before fleeing the western North Carolina neighborhood with his two children.

The Buncombe County Sheriff's Office said they found 45-year-old Richard Heatwole dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound early Friday morning in a cousin's home near Taylorsville in Alexander County. The 10-year-old and 6-year-old children were safe in police custody.

Investigators began their search for Heatwole on Thursday night after finding his ex-wife, 49-year-old Angela Heatwole, dead in a Candler home. Authorities said he also killed 44-year-old Divina Gracia Agulto, who was renting a room at the home, and 43-year-old Lesley Curtis Moore Keogh, who lived next door.

Hayes Heatwole is a 6-year-old White male, approximately 3 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 45 pounds. He has blond- long shaggy hair, and blue eyes.

Haley Heatwole is a 10-year-old White female, approximately 4 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 62 pounds. She has brown-shoulder length hair, and hazel eyes. Scar on her forehead that extends to the bridge of her nose.

Allegedly, there is 1 abductor: Richard Doughlas Heatwole. Richard Doughlas Heatwole is described as 45 years old, White, male, 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 165 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes.

Authorities believe the suspect and children are traveling to St. Petersburg, Fl. The vehicle is a White 1986 Toyota Truck Extended Cab with NC license tag number YNS-8257.

    It is such a shame that there are so many psychos running around. They have no regard for anyone or anything except their own personal twisted desires. What a shame for these children and all the others who have had to endure such emotional and physical abuse by the people who brought them into this world and are supposed to be their champions. What lunacy.
