Beatty To Step Down As NC Crime Control Secretary

North Carolina Crime Control and Public Safety Secretary Bryan Beatty has said he will soon leave the department.

The News & Observer of Raleigh reports that Beatty is leaving for a new position Gov. Mike Easley will announce soon. Beatty has been in charge of the department since Easley took office in 2001.

The Department of Crime Control and Public Safety includes the State Highway Patrol, the Division of Alcohol Law Enforcement and the Emergency Management Division.

The newspaper says while Beatty declined to say what his new job
would be, he has been rumored to be in line for an opening on the
N.C. Utilities Commission or a state Superior Court seat.

    WITN, like I said Beck and Bennett need to step down to. Both would do the tax payers their best days work by doing so. Neither one is worth 2 cents much less the outrageous salary they make. Censor that !
