Credit Card Thief On Prowl

Lawmen need your help in identifying a man they say has been using a stolen credit card in Eastern Carolina.

The credit card was taken from a hospital employee in Scotland Neck back on December 4th. Deputies in Halifax County say the card has been used several times in Scotland Neck and Tarboro.

Deputies today released surveillance photos of the man along with a vehicle he was driving when using the cards. Authorities say the man has been linked to a credit card theft from a Rocky Mount dental clinic as well.

If anyone knows the man shown in the pictures, please contact the Halifax County Sheriff's Office at (252)-583-8201 or Halifax County Crimestoppers at (252)-583-4444.

Curious - No, we actually urge that the victim cancel their cards as soon as possible. Once a card is reported lost or stolen it will give the cashier a code that represents lost or stolen. From there the card is supposed to be held by the cashier until the matter is cleared, usually the thief will not stick around once a card has been denied.

It a world where technology has take digital imagery to great heights, we still have to look at teeny tiny, pixelated, low quality images and video to make out the faces of a criminals. No wonder they get away with so much. Something is wrong here.

Was not cancelling the idea of the police so they could capture the guy? j is right, why wasn't it cancelled? Also, can't they flag a card so it comes up as stolen when it is used? Strange story.

I say this is the ignorance of the card owner that should have CANCELLED it when it was stolen. DUH
