Search warrants say four North Carolina teenagers charged with killing a friend read tarot cards about his future before he was beaten with a hammer and suffocated with duct tape.
The News & Observer of Raleigh reported Thursday that the warrants said 18-year-old Matthew Silliman's body was found Dec. 3 in a plastic bag in a Wake County home.
Friends of the Eagle Scout, 16-year-old Drew Shaw, 18-year-old Ryan Hare and 17-year-old Aadil Khan of Apex; and 17-year-old Allegra Dahlquist of Cary, face one count each of murder. Hare and Shaw are also charged with one count of conspiracy to commit murder.
Defense attorney Joe Cheshire says Dahlquist is talking to investigators and is remorseful. The newspaper reported lawyers and parents of the other suspects didn't want to speak or couldn't be reached.
