Man Shot In Home Invasion

A man is in intensive care until at Pitt County Memorial Hospital after police say he was shot several times during a home invasion.

It happened in Stantonsburg, Wayne County early Wednesday morning. The Wayne County Sheriff's Office says Luis Muniz was shot multiple times at 1113 Lanetown road. They say he was attacked by two or three men wearing hooded sweat shirts.

A neighbor who knows the victim says he can't believe someone would hurt his friend.

Deputies say they haven't had a chance to interview Muniz because of his condition at the hospital.

"This year will go down in history. For the first time a civilized nation has full gun registration. Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead unto the future!" Adolf Hitler, 1935

I think some people want it both ways, vote for someone who is against what they think is a right for themselves. Seems Illinois Senate, SB 1195, 3/13/03, some of you have never believed it or in that denial thing again. I am telling you there is more, much more to come. Just remember, I didn't vote for this liberal clown.

    * * Yea. .But if they take all the guns away, we'll all be safe, because then no one would have a gun, right? Hope you dont believe it! And yes Mr. (Prez-elect)Obama does want to get his hands on your stinking guns. Mr. Jefferson said, "fear the government that fears your guns". I love this guy. Merry Christmas, Buzz-

Tad: Naive? Hardly. My retort to you is that you may be a bit of a dualistic thinker, i.e. "all or nothing". You say they will try to "restrict gun ownership". This is overly-simplistic. Shotguns? I doubt it. Handguns? I doubt that too. Hunting rifles? No. Fully auto AK's? I don't know. Also, who would argue that they need to tighten up on sentencing for people who use guns in illegal acts? I fully understand that criminals will skirt laws to get their hands on weapons, but they have to crack down on dealers who are the most egregious in flaunting the rules. I grew up with guns. I'm ex-military. I'll always own guns and shoot. I have an FFL. But, the histrionic "sky is falling", "the commies are coming" rantings of some on here that are pouting about election results is growing old. The US has alot of other issues on its hands right now to deal with. Thank you sir.

in all reality even if u do have a gun for protection if u are sittin on the couch in the living room or at the refridgerator or on the throne and someone all of a sudden bust in on u how quickly can u really get to your protection?? Do you walk around the house with it?? Im not knockin guns i own one but i thought of this myself being alone with my young child during the day, how quickly could i react if someone burst in on me. Of course i keep my doors locked so maybe ill have a little warning.
