Couple Charged In Trafficking Cocaine

Nearly a pound of cocaine was seized and two people are in jail after a raid on a Jacksonville home.

Deputies say it happened Tuesday afternoon on Marlene Drive.

They seized over 400 grams of cocaine, along with marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Deputies say the drugs are worth $43,000 on the street.

Charged with trafficking cocaine and numerous other charges are Staff Sergeant Michael Martins and Alese Silva, both who lived at the house. Martins is stationed at Camp Lejeune.

Deputies say they received a tip that the two were selling a large amount of drugs in Onslow County. After surveillance, narcotic officers were able to get a search warrant for their home.

The two are in jail under $100,000 bonds.
