Arsenic Being Investigated In Marine Death

A medical examiner says they are looking at whether arsenic was in the system of Marine who was found dead last week.

Sergeant Timothy Patterson was found dead the day before Thanksgiving at his motel room in Surf City.

Dr. Anuradha Arcot says the autopsy is not yet complete as they are awaiting drug & alcohol results.

The medical examiner says there were no obvious signs of death and investigators asked her to check for arsenic.

Patterson lived at Tiffany's Motel and police say they're not releasing any more details until the cause of death is known.

Surf City police are investigating the death of a Camp Lejeune Marine.

Sgt. Timothy Patterson's body was found last Wednesday by police officers at Tiffany's Motel. Police say he lived at the motel.

Patterson was assigned to the 3rd Battalion 6th Marine Regiment at Camp Lejeune.

Police say they are still awaiting autopsy results and at this point are not saying how they believe the Marine died.
