Rocky Mount begins its Youth Protection Ordinance. It targets kids under the age of 16.
On Sundays through Thursdays, those teens can't be in a public place without an adult between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m.. On Fridays and Saturdays, the rules are a little more relaxed;.teens under 16 can't be in public places from 12:01 a.m. through 6 a.m.
Rocky Mount officials say the goals of their curfew are to protect teens, reduce juvenile violence and crime, and enhance parental authority.
