A Greenville woman was shot by a man she thought was trying to help her while she was standing on the side of the road.
It happened early Wednesday morning. Police say the woman was pulled over on the shoulder of Thomas Langston Road near South Bend because she had a flat tire.
The 22-year-old told police the alleged good samaritan offered his help, then hit her in the back of the head with his gun and robbed her.
The victim did not realize she was shot until she went to the hospital because she was suffering from head pains. The shooter is still on the loose.
