Mother Charged With Felony Child Abuse

A mother is in jail after she was arrested for abusing her own child.

Beaufort County deputies Tuesday arrested Jenny Jordan of Barnes Drive in Chocowinity on one count of felony child abuse inflicting serious bodily injury.

Deputies say on March 12th the child was flown to Pitt County Memorial Hospital with severe head trauma after it was injured at a home on Highway 17, south of Chocowinity.

Investigators would only say the child was under 5 year old.

Deputies say they conducted an extensive investigation, including several interviews with the mother and medical personnel, before they were able to make an arrest.

The 26-year-old Jordan was jailed on a $2,000 secured bond.

Jenny Jordan did not hit or ever hurt any of her children. These charges are false aligations!!!! Her children love her dearly. When her son was in the hospital, he only wanted his mama! Her children have never been hurt by her or ever striked in such false aligations against her. Her children have never shown any fear towards her! They want their mother back. This is so sad for the whole family to sit back and watch, this happen to our family. In our criminal justice system you are gulity until you prove your innocense.

I can't believe it took 8 months. My 6 year old's Mother slapped him in the face so hard last May that when we came to pick him up many hours later her hand print was still on his face like it just happened. We called the police. They took pictures. We took him to the hospital. It was diagnosed as child abuse/neglect. DYFS conducted their interviews. And at the end of our parenting time he had to go back home to her. The detective told us that the statues of limitations is 5 years. Nothing else has been done. I'm sure this poor child is still being abused as well as the other children. Still nothing. She needs to go to jail!!! For a long time!!!! Child are angels on earth (sometimes they don't act much like one) But they are still children and should be loved...not hit. he violence needs to stop. We put our kids in time out when they're acting up...parents need to learn when they need to put themselves in time out before they hurt someone. When you get angry..take five.

When they look up at you with those eyes, and you look down and see them....how can you harm them? They are defenseless...and they look to us for protection, food, love, and care. As a mother...protecting is instinctual. I can be alone in my car with groceries in the front seat...and if a car pulls out in front on me, I'll throw my arm across my groceries by instinct. What a sorry mother...

No matter how angry we may be that a defenseless child was harm, as children of God we still have to pray for the mother. May GOD bless them both.

Please keep in mind that bond is set to insure that someone will appear in court. While the seriousness of the crime is taken into consideration, its not the only criteria.

Don't get your hopes up that justice will be served. The story just prior to this one has a man on a $1 million dollar bond for stealing and selling powder, but a woman can beat her child and get a $2,000 bond. The worse part is she will get the child back and it will happen again! That is our court system! I certainly hope someone steps up and attempts to fight for this child.
