Arrest Made In Hertford County Double Murder

There's been a break in the murders of two elderly women in Hertford County.

William Futrell has been charged with killing Dorothy Hobbs and Nellie Bradley in August 2006.

Sheriff Juan Vaughan tells WITN News that Futrell was arrested this morning in Franklin, Virginia.

The sheriff says evidence collected at the scene was used to make the connection to Futrell.

The two sisters were found naked and their throats cut near Murfreesboro on August 4th, 2006.

Futrell will have his first court appearance Friday morning.

This is so sad... So tragic! What would someone be thinking to do something like this. They were elderly and defenseless.

I hope that they have the right man and can prove it. It was disgusting the way he murdered these women. They still have a unsolved murder involving a alcohol counselor in Emporia Va. which happened around the same time. More infomation can be found about this case on www.pilotonline.com.
