2 Men Convicted Of Stealing Copper From Craven County Utility Poles

Two men have been convicted of stealing wire from active utility poles in Craven County, selling it., then using the money to buy drugs. The pair face between 10 and 23 months in jail.

Justin Corbett and Toshiaki Hirae were convicted in Craven County Superior Court after entering guilty pleas. The two climbed utility poles, cut the ground wires, and stole copper wiring from them. They then sold the copper at various scrap yards and used the money to buy illegal drugs.
