2 Hertford Co. Schools On Lockdown During Manhunt For Shooting Suspects

Police are looking for three people of interest after a shooting and chase of the suspects getaway car Thursday afternoon. The manhunt for the shooting suspects caused the brief lockdown of 2 schools.

Around noon the Ahoskie Police Department got a call of an assault with a gun. Police say the victim was shot with a weapon on N. Academy Street while sitting in his vehicle and the victim was met by EMS at another location a few blocks away. Police say he was transported to the hospital by his parents.

Police say they found the shooting suspects' vehicle overturned off Highway 42 near the WRCS/WDQK radio station, but the suspects had fled into the woods. Nearby Bearfield Primary School and Ahoskie Elementary School were both placed on lockdown for a short time.

Police say they are looking for 3 persons of interest in this investigation and 2 are considered armed and dangerous.
They are 22-year-old Jonathan Rascoe of Commerce Court in Aulander and 20-year-old John Jon Rascoe of W. Saluda Hall Road in Ahoskie who are both considered armed and dangerous. Police are also looking for 18-year-old Brenyetta Rascoe of Bakers Store Road in Woodland.
