ALE: 13-Year-Old Charged With DWI; Friend Supplied Alcohol

A man in the east is accused of supplying alcohol to a 13-year-old girl who was later involved in a drunk driving wreck that injured three people.

ALE agents have charged Charles Vinson of Woodland in Northampton County with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, giving a malt beverage to a person under the age of 21 and aiding and abetting the underage possession of an alcoholic beverage by a minor.

Authorities say on March 3rd the 23-year-old Vinson was at a party at his trailer park with the girl, two 14-year-olds and an 18-year-old. They say both beer and liquor were consumed at the party.

Agents say the 13-year-old was behind the wheel when the vehicle she was driving without headlights crashed head-on into another vehicle around 10:30 p.m. on Highway 35. The girl and those in the other vehicle were injured. She was charged with DWI by state troopers.

Vinson was jailed on a $3,000 secured bond.
