A half kilo of cocaine is off the streets and a suspected drug trafficker behind bars.
The Goldsboro/Wayne County Drug Squad says it began an investigation into drugs in the Hood Swamp area. The DEA and the Greenville Drug Task Force assisted them.
They searched a home on Peele Road and found approximately 500 grams of cocaine worth some $50,000. Abel Hernandez has been charged with trafficking cocaine.
The 40-year-old Hernandez is jailed on a half-million dollar bond.
