A Dudley man is facing charges for a shooting, and authorities say he was arrested at the scene of the crime.
Clifton Elps, 51, of Holloman Ln. in Dudley is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. The Wayne County Sheriff's Office says he shot Anthony Burroughs in the leg on Holloman Ln.
Burroughs was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro for treatment.
Deputies had responded to the same location earlier in the day for another incident involving Elps and Burroughs. Officials say the shooting was the result of escalation from the incident earlier in the day.
Elps was jailed under a $150,000 bond.
