A North Carolina-based paratrooper was killed when the vehicle he was in rolled over in western Iraq.

The Department of Defense announced on Friday that 23-year-old Cpl. Daniel T. O'Leary of Youngsville died Tuesday in Fallujah, Iraq. Officials did not release any details.

O'Leary was assigned to the 307th Brigade Support Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, based at Fort Bragg. This was his second deployment to Iraq. He joined the Army in April 2006 and reported to the division in August of that year.

A woman who answered the phone at the home of O'Leary's parents in Youngsville declined to comment, but said that O'Leary's wife and parents were returning home from Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, where fallen servicemembers are returned in flag-draped coffins.
