Suspect Nabbed In Shooting Near School Campus
Police say Lawrence Cox, Jr. was arrested Monday evening in Charlotte. He is accused of trying to kill a Greenville man last Sunday evening.

A man wanted for a shooting last weekend in a Kinston park is now back in Kinston and behind bars.
Kinston police say authorities in Charlotte arrested Lawrence Cox, Jr. around 5:30 p.m. Monday. An anonymous tip led to his arrest.
Cox is accused in the March 8th shooting at Southeast Park, right next to Southeast Elementary School. Donnie Smith of Greenville was shot in the head and at last check was in critical condition at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
Police haven't released a motive for the shooting, but did say there was some type of argument between the two men just prior to the shooting.
Cox was returned to Lenoir County Tuesday and is in jail on a $1,000,000 bond.

Sunday Donnie Smith of Greenville was shot in the head during a gathering in the park next to Southeast Elementary School. Police say Smith remains in critical condition at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
Major Greg Thompson tells WITN News that some type of confrontation between the two men preceded the shooting.

A shooting next door to an elementary school has left a Greenville man critically injured.
It happened last night around 7:00 p.m. at Southeast park, that's right next to Southeast Elementary School on South McDaniel Street in Kinston.
Police say they found Donnie Smith shot in the head when they responded to a shots fired call.
Witnesses told police the gunman was wearing a red hat and black shirt but no further description was released.
The 21-year-old Smith was transferred to Pitt County Memorial Hospital where police say he's in critical condition.

anyways despite what all these people are talking about and what they think, the LORD is the only one that can judge and take matters in his own hands. so it's what the LORD has planned for both of these gentlemen. so what the public has to say, yeah it's your own interpertation but it's all in the LORD's hand. may GOD be with both of the families and everything will work out for the best of both ends
