It's A Vikings 'Ship: Kinston Boys And Girls Win Titles

Both the Kinston boys and girls basketball teams captured state championships Saturday at the Dean Smith Center in Chapel Hill.

The boys squad made it back to back titles against Cuthbertson as Denzel Keyes paced a 56-53 win with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Keyes was named Most Valuable Player in the game.

The girls notched their first state championship in their first appearance as Jada Faison, Lydia Rivers and Monique Lofton all reach double digit points in the 51-40 vicotory. Rivers was named Most Valuable Player.
