A teenage father is accused of shaking his four-week-old baby so hard it had trouble breathing and had to be hospitalized.
Jacob Pinyan has been charged with felony child abuse causing serious physical injury.
Craven County deputies say they started investigating Pinyan on Wednesday. They say injuries indicate Shaken Baby Syndrome after the child was taken to CarolinaEast Medical Center. The boy is now at Vidant Medical Center in stable condition.
The 19-year-old father is jailed on a $150,000 bond.
