Surf’s up. The tide is right and surfers will be riding waves as they compete in a surfing competition, starting Friday.

This year's competition is for all levels of female surfers.

More than 100 of those surfers will be competing in the Wrightsville Beach Wahine Classic surfing competition. They will compete in shortboard, longboard and standup paddleboard heats.

According to Wahine Classic officials, several amateur finalists from 2013 will be moving into the pro division this year.

The competition continues through Sunday.
