The owner of four dogs has been arrested, after deputies say they attacked a woman last week.
Terry Butler has been charged with one count of animal causing a disturbance and one counts of animal running at large.
Mildred Games was attacked by dogs on the morning of June 25th outside her Country Run Lane home, which is outside of Goldsboro.
Deputies say the 71-year-old was attacked by the four dogs and she received extensive injuries. Games remains a patient at Vidant Medical Center.
The 35-year-old Butler was jailed on a $1,000 secured bond.
A Wayne County woman is recovering in a Greenville hospital after deputies say she was attacked by pit bulls.
Vidant Medical Center says 71-year-old Mildred Game is in fair condition at the hospital this morning.
Authorities say they got the call around 6:45 a.m. Wednesday when the first caller told 911 that the loose dogs were attacking what looked like an animal or an object on Country Run Lane. A second caller told 911 the dogs were attacking a person.
As a deputy was getting out of his cruiser, the pit bulls charged him, according to a news release. He shot one of the dogs, while the second ran away.
The dogs have since been impounded by Animal Control, while deputies continue to investigate the attack.
