Woman Carjacks & Robs ECU Co-Ed, Then Gets Dinner At McDonald's

Police say an armed robber ordered dinner at a McDonald's after carjacking an ECU student last weekend in Greenville.

Today, officers released surveillance video of that woman inside the restaurant after the robbery. On Saturday they made available video of the woman crossing East Tenth Street.

The robbery and kidnapping happened around 6:00 p.m. Saturday at the corner of Charles Boulevard and Greenville Boulevard. The victim says while she was sitting in traffic, a woman with a knife got into her car and forced her to drive to the McDonald's at Cotanche and East Tenth streets. The robber took $17 from the victim and ran from the car.

The victim was a 22-year-old East Carolina University student.

Surveillance video from inside the restaurant shows the woman buying food, apparently with the stolen loot, and then leaving. The victim told police the robber has a small “butterfly” tattoo on her right hand and was wearing a white tee shirt.

The victim went to work where she reported the robbery to her employer who then called police.

Anyone who can identify the woman in the surveillance video should call the Greenville Police Department at 252-329-4315.
