Wilson Woman Battling Cancer Receives White Christmas Wish

A Wilson woman battling cancer has received her wish of a white Christmas, despite temperatures in the 50s.

The Wilson Times reports that Laurie Pearson's husband arranged for a winter wonderland on their front yard after hearing that all she wanted for Christmas was to see snow.

Pearson is battling stage-four cancer. She was first diagnosed with cancer in February 2011. She went into remission after treatment. But in August, the Pearsons learned her cancer had returned and spread. She has resumed treatment.

Four tons of snow was blown onto her yard Saturday.

Kevin Pearson surprised his wife by keeping her away from the house for several hours while Snow My Yard turned ice to snow. The Raleigh company reduced the price from $3,000 to $350 due to the circumstances.
