With rain approaching from the west, Tuesday will be a wet one here in eastern Carolina. Rain gauges will start to fill early in the morning and won't stop collecting rain until Tuesday evening. Rainfall totals will range between 1/4" to 1" with most areas expected to get 1/2" or more.
The cold front associated with this band of showers will pull in cold, dry air in to the region Tuesday night in to Wednesday morning and will stick around through Thursday, pulling temperatures down from the low 70s on Tuesday to the low 50s by Thursday afternoon.
