The Washington High School wrestling team is holding its 8th annual tournament Saturday, January 5.

The event is in memory of Eli Saleeby Lee, a Pam Pack wrestler who tragically died in a 2005 car accident.

The tournament starts at 9 a.m. and normally runs through the afternoon. The school is located at 400 Slatestone Road in Washington.

Teams taking part in the tournament are Washington, Hertford County, West Craven, Dixon, Farmville Central, Edenton, Northeastern, Pamlico, East Carteret and First Flight.

The cost to get in is $6. All proceeds support the WHS wrestling team and the athletics booster club.
