UPDATE: Washington Water Line Fixed, Significant Damage From Accident

Officials say that a water line that broke following a car accident with a fire hydrant has been sealed.

Water resources superintendent Adam Waters says the repair at 7th and Respess Streets was finished up around 1 a.m. Sunday after an accident around 8:15 p.m. Saturday. Waters says that the accident stirred up lines which could have caused discoloration in some area residents water.

Waters says that there is significant damage to the street and the area where the hydrant was. Crews will be out repairing the area later this week.

Officials say there was no health concern with the original break.

Washington Police could not provide information on what led up to the accident at this time.
