A deep, rich tropical flow of moisture will continue across eastern Carolina on Tuesday. A stationary front over the area will interact with the moisture to produce another round of scattered showers and storms by midday into the afternoon. Afternoon highs will be in the middle 80s inland and lower 80s on the beaches.
Temps will run a little hotter Wednesday with highs in the low 90s along with scattered afternoon storms. Heat index values will reach the upper 90s with the high humidity levels. Tha chance of seeing a shower or storm will drop to 30% Wednesday.
Another cold front will move into the area then stall over eastern Carolina late Thursday and Friday, bringing yet another good chance for showers and storms. Some stronger storms may develop on Thursday with the primary threat being brief, strong wind gusts.
