A man has been arrested after witnesses say he approached a group of children and fired a shot into the air.
It happened around 2:45 p.m. at Sheraton Village on Haven Drive in Greenville.
Police say a dispute apparently happened between several people, and at one point someone fired a shotgun in the air.
Witnesses tell WITN that it began several days ago when a 12 year old got into a fight with a 14 year old who lives across the street. The dispute continued today with the mother of the younger child and the step-mother of the other child.
Witnesses say this afternoon the father of the 14 year old came home from work, and left his vehicle with a shotgun. They say he approached a group of four kids, which included the 12 year old, and fired into the air. The children say the man did not point the gun at them.
Marlo Bailey has been charged with going armed to the terror of the public and discharging a weapon within city limits.
Police say no one was hurt and nothing was damaged.
