WITN Celebrates New Greenville Studio With Open House

By  |

WITN has been in our new facility on Arlington Boulevard in Greenville for a few months now, and we put the place on display for everyone in the community to come and see it for themselves Wednesday night with an open house.

Friends of WITN toured the high definition set, newsroom, and control room. Gray Television's CEO and president Hilton Howell led the ribbon cutting ceremony. Then WITN General Manager Mark Gentner and our on-air personalities officially welcomed the community inside. Another focus of the tour, was the new three-dimensional green screen, and weather center.

"Really the graphic system that we have here is second to none as far as any place in the United States. We can put things together very, very quickly if we need to, in case of a severe weather situation," said WITN's Chief Meteorologist Marvin Daugherty.

The station's official launch was June 5th of this year. We want to thank everyone who came out to see us and our viewers as we continue to bring eastern carolina the latest breaking news and weather coverage.
