Vidant Nurse Killed In Weather-Related Car Crash

The Highway Patrol says a nurse at Vidant Medical Center as killed on rain-slicked roads Friday morning.

It happened around 8:30 a.m. on U.S. 13 just northeast of Goldsboro.

The Highway Patrol say 39-year-old Paula Divers of Goldsboro died on the scene.

Troopers say she was traveling south when her Lexus four-door passenger vehicle slid sideways into the path of an oncoming tractor trailer.

It was raining at the time and troopers say she was doing the speed limit.

The driver of the big rig was treated and released from the hospital.
