Fire investigators are now working to find out why a Craven County home went up in flames early Thursday morning.
Craven County Emergency Services Director, Stanley Kite, said the house fire at 415 Scott Street in the James City area was called in around 2 a.m. Thursday.
It took firefighters hours to knock down.
Crews have now deemed the fire at the vacant home suspicious.
No one was inside at the time and Kite said it is believed the owner was planning on doing renovations before renting the property.
No word yet on any arrests in the case.
