UTEP Coach Floyd Reprimanded By Conference

Greenville, NC -- The Conference USA commissioner has reprimanded first-year University of Texas at El Paso coach Tim Floyd for an outburst that got him tossed out of his team's loss at East Carolina on Wednesday night.

Commissioner Britton Banowsky says Floyd's actions Wednesday night were "unacceptable."

It took a police officer to remove Floyd from Wednesday's game at ECU.

Banowsky says he expects coaches to leave when they are ejected.

In the second half of the Miners' game against ECU at Minges Coliseum, Floyd was hit with a technical foul after being given a warning for coming onto the court and out of the coaches box. Floyd then continued to argue with the referees and after a second technical foul was issued Floyd was ejected from the game.

A UTEP assistant coach was ejected shortly afterward as well.

The Miners were whistled for 27 fouls and five technicals in the 83-76 loss to East Carolina.
