Man Who Was Medevaced By U.S. Coast Guard In Fair Condition

A man is listed in stable condition after being rescued from a cruise ship off our coast.

The Coast Guard medevaced 35-year-old Brent Killian about 180 miles east of Nags Head.

The captain of the 965 foot cruise ship Norwegian Gem called for help just before 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, saying Killian was in distress.

That's when a MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter arrived to the scene about 5 p.m., and hoisted Killian back to the air station.

Killian was immediately transferred to Albemarle Hospital in Elizabeth City, where hospital officials tell WITN he's in fair condition.

An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter arrived on scene about 5:00 p.m. and hoisted Killian back to the air station.

He was then transferred to a hospital in Elizabeth City, where he's in stable condition.
